Gerald F. Musgraves

Gerald F. Musgraves, 78, of Port Charlotte, Fla., and formerly of Flint, Mich., passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, in Port Charlotte.

He was born Sept. 16, 1934, in Advance, Mo.

A veteran with the U.S. Army, Gerald served as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne unit. Following his military service, he worked for General Motors as a machine repairman in Flint, until his retirement. Gerald was a kind, loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all the people he touched.

He is survived by his wife of five years, Barbara; children, Sandra (Michael) Michaud of Port Charlotte, and Kimberly Hayes of Delray Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Kristin (Adam) Henry of Port Charlotte, Rebeca Warram also of Port Charlotte, Andrew (Nicole) Michael Hayes Jr. of Tampa, Fla., and Theresa Hayes also of Tampa; brother and sister-in-law, Derald and Mary Gearing; cousins, Gary and Linda Fulmer, Rosati and Jerry Johnson, and Diana and Dave Hoyt, all of Florida. Gerald was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn; and parents, Ervin and Charity (Rable) Musgraves.

Viewing for Gerald will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, with funeral service to be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Roberson Funeral Homes, Port Charlotte Chapel at 2151 Tamiami Trail.
