Richard A. Morgan, 78, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013.

He was born Jan. 14, 1935, in Sadsbury Township, Pa., and moved to this area 29 years ago from Coraopolis, Pa.

Mr. Morgan was a retired Bus Operator for the Pittsburgh Port Authority Garage 83. He was the former owner of Grovton Boat Club in Coraopolis. Mr. Morgan was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Masons Aliquippa Lodge 375; lifetime member of the Robinson Township Volunteer Fire Company 244; V.F.W. Post 10476 in Rotonda West, Fla.; American Legion Post 0113 in Rotonda West; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 388; Royal Order of the Moose Lodge 2554 in Gulf Cove, Fla., and a member of El Jobean Community League. Mr. Morgan served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1956, and the reserves from 1956 to 1960.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Geraldine; daughter, Cynthia (Mike) Bevilacqua; sons, Richard (Cheryl), and Daniel (Heidi); stepsons, Arnold (Doreena) Traud, and Ronald (Katie) Traud; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ethel Morgan; and brother, Robert Morgan.

Memorial donations may be made to TideWell Hospice Inc, 5955 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, FL. 34238. Services will be held at a later date at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72 (Clark Road) Sarasota, FL.

Arrangements are by National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte.
