Robert Kozoman
Robert “Bob” Kozoman, 87, of Harbour Heights, Fla., passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, surrounded by family members.
Bob was born Dec. 17, 1925, in Joliet, Ill., to Marko and Agnes Kozoman.
He attended college in Joliet, and received a degree in Electrical Engineering from International Correspondence School. He also attended Purdue University and took numerous Management and Leadership courses over the years. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army, spending his service time in both the U.S. and abroad. Bob married his wife Carroll in 1949. They lived together in both Toledo, Ohio, and Chicago, Ill., while Bob worked for the Union Oil Co. (UNOCAL). He retired from UNOCAL in 1986 as General Superintendent of Maintenance, after 41 years of service. After retirement, Bob and his wife Carroll left Chicago for the warm Charlotte County, Fla., sun, where he served as President of Charlotte Harbor Water Association, Chairman of Trustees at Harbour Heights United Methodist Church, on the Board of Directors of the Charlotte Dinner Club, and was a member of the Englewood Beach and Yacht Club, the Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club, the Punta Gorda Boat Club and the Harbour Heights Civic Association.
Robert Kozoman is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carroll; sons, Robert, Ronald and Randy; daughters, Cheryl and Cathleen; 13 grandchildren; and brothers, Frank, Leonard and Ronald.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 27000 Sunnybrook Road, Harbour Heights (Punta Gorda for postal purposes), FL 33983. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Community United Methodist Church.
