Joseph W. Parker Sr.

Joseph W. Parker Sr., 72, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013.

He was born Sept. 17, 1940, in Columbus, Ohio, and moved to this area over 40 years ago.

Joseph retired as a landscaper and had owned his own business, Joseph’s Lawn Service, serving all of Charlotte County, Fla. He loved spending time under the oak tree, beer in hand, enjoying time with both family and friends. Joseph had a great sense of humor and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Cheri Parker; mother, Evelyn Dhume; children, Jerry Parker, Joseph Parker Jr., Eddie Parker, Norma Jones, Chuck Wolf, Richard Wolf and Evvy Parker; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sisters, Sharon “Sherry” Henry and Le Ann Lloyd. Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Edward Parker; and children, Mary, Peggy and Darryll.
