PORT CHARLOTTE — Authorities say a local man used Craigslist in an attempt to buy drugs, advertising his need for oxycodone pills by posting it on the website in exchange for food stamps, according to a Charlotte County Sheriff’s report.

Jesse Thomas Wilkes, 25, of the 1200 block of Sandy Street, was charged with attempting to purchase a controlled substance and public assistance fraud.
