Charlotte County Utilities officials announced Friday that a boil-water notice is in effect through the weekend, and all residents from Collingswood Boulevard to the eastern part of the county, and south to Charlotte Harbor, need to continue to boil all of their water through at least noon Sunday.

Stephen Kipfinger of CCU said two days of water-testing samples are required before lifting the boil-water notice, and the utility should know by Sunday afternoon whether the notice needs to be extended.
