City lights up the night

Hundreds of residents celebrated the city of Punta Gorda’s 125th anniversary Friday by lighting the Christmas Tree at the City Marketplace site downtown on Marion Avenue. The event was complete with holiday “snow” and a parade that included Mr. and Mrs. Claus, to see which children where naughty or nice. Here, the tree in downtown Punta Gorda is lit, signaling the beginning of the holiday season.
