people are all ‘Heart’

A Pet Parade and Festival fundraiser for the 2013 Charlotte County Heart Walk, to benefit the American Heart Association, was held Saturday at Edison State College Charlotte Campus in Punta Gorda. The event featured a pet parade and costume contest, along with vendor exhibits, raffles, a pooch smooch booth and more. The event raised $1,000 toward a goal of $5,000. The 2013 Heart Walk is set for Feb. 23. For more information, contact Michael Beane at mbeane@edison.edu. Here, Fred Bettis enjoys the morning with his two Yorkies, Cherokee and Baron; and silver toy poodle, Cessna. Bettis’ background is in aviation, and he named all his dogs after types of aircraft.
