Laura and Scott Wisser, who recently bought a home in Punta Gorda, brought Terry and Joe Ocampa, who were visiting from Michigan, on the Discovery Punta Gorda tour. While on board the boat, Laura Wisser, who was celebrating her birthday, won the drawing for a boat trip to Cabbage Key.

Patty and John Kiernan thought the boat tour would be a good activity to take Johns mother, Irene Morgan, who was visiting from Ohio.

It’s unusual to see plaid, wool capes and zipped jackets any time in Punta Gorda, and especially in what is normally balmy November weather. But during the Nov. 16 Discovery Punta Gorda tours put on by the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce, customers had a welcome break from the heat.
The tours offer marker sightings on board the Hibiscus Trolley and a water tour with the help of King Fisher Fleet. Both help deliver tidbits about Punta Gorda’s wild and quirky history.
