W hile Tamar was first in our Advent Jesse Tree study, verse five in Matthew 1:1-17’s genealogy leads us deeper into Jesus’ incarnational break into history. There we read of “Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab.”

Rahab’s story begins in Joshua 2:1-21 as Joshua sends two spies into the land. In Jericho, they stayed in the house of a prostitute named Rahab.
