Most of the difficulties we face in marriage are a reflection of the problems we have in dealing with ourselves. Often I tell struggling partners, “The best thing for you is divorce, not from each other, but from the problems driving you apart. If you divorce without resolving the crisis, you will eventually end up trading one set of difficulties for another.”
