Robert Emmet Flynn

Robert Emmet “Bob” Flynn, 64, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012.

He was born Feb. 23, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Robert was a U.S. Army Veteran from 1967 until 1969, and stationed in Germany before ending his service stateside. He had a long career with ABF beginning at the age of 18, and was eventually appointed district manager of terminals in Canton, Ohio, and Ashtabula, Ohio, until he retired at the age of 58 and moved to Florida. Bob was very well-known for his musical accomplishments, and spent much of his retirement sharing his talent and passion for music with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing and boating in the Port Charlotte area.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Tonya (Ronald) Vert and Natalie (Scott) Sarles; and was the grandfather of Mason Sarles; brother to Thomas Flynn, Ruth Hackett, Kathleen Travosek and Darlene Price; and uncle to many.

A military memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, Fla.

Arrangements are by National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte.
