Robert G. Miller
Robert G. Miller, 82, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012.
He was born in Paterson, N.J.
Robert lived in North Haledon, N.J., and Anderson, S.C., before moving to Florida 20 years ago. He served in the U.S. Army, and prior to his retirement in 1992, he was a Mechanical Engineer with Greenville Hospital in Greenville, S.C. Robert formerly worked for Schmidt Laboratories in South Carolina and Little Falls, N.J. Previously, he owned and operated American Home Plumbing and Heating in North Haledon. Robert was a member of the Elks, the American Legion, the Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club, the Punta Gorda Yacht Club, and the Peace River Sail and Power Squadron. Robert loved his dogs, Duke and Penny.
He was the beloved husband of Theresa (nee Alexander) Miller; devoted father of Robert Miller of Massachusetts, Patricia (James) Duncan of South Carolina, Scott Miller of Haledon, N.J., and Cynthia Restrepo of New Mexico; loving grandfather of Kelly, Matthew, Alexander and Rebecca; and dear brother of Donald Miller of Pennsylvania.
Funeral services were held at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, N.J., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul’s R.C. Church of Prospect Park, N.J. Interment was to be at Christ the King Cemetery of Franklin Lakes.
Arrangements were by Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, Franklin Lakes.
