Robert Thomas Runciman

Robert “Bob” Thomas Runciman, 86, of Carmel, Ind., passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2013.

Born Oct. 28, 1926, in Indianapolis, Ind., he was the son of John James and Margaret (nee Ferguson) Runciman.

Bob was the owner of Boatland, Inc., a company that he and his wife founded in 1961. He was a longtime member of the Punta Gorda Yacht Club, a member of the IBEW, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, and was an U.S. Army Air Corp veteran.

Survivors include his children, Gary (Sue Casey) Runciman, Robert Lee (Barb) Runciman, Tammy (Perry) Anderson; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Runciman; brother, Jack Runciman; and parents, John James and Margaret (nee Ferguson) Runciman.

A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, in the Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel, with calling beginning at 2 p.m. You may visit www.leppertmortuary.com where you may share a memory with the family, sign the guestbook, or in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Indiana Chapter, 50 E. 91st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
