Richard A. “Dick” Lucas, 75, of Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Abington/Middleboro, Mass., passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, with his family at his side, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

He was born Aug. 30, 1937, to Cecil and Leona Lucas.

Dick graduated from Wentworth Institute with an associate degree in Engineering and from Boston University with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science. He was always available to family and friends with help with their computers, cook dinners, his quick wit, and great hugs!

Dick is survived by his beloved wife, Betty; sons, Dana R. (Deborah), Dwayne M. (Doreen); grandchildren, Anthony, Brett, Jesse, Caitlyn and Kylee. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Delight Ann; and son, Scott David.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Pilgrim United Church of Christ located at 24515 Rampart Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL. Memorial donations may be made out to Tidewell Hospice located at Veronica St., Port Charlotte, FL.

Arrangements are by ICS Cremation Society, Inc.
