Janet R. Staples of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Monday, March 4, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family and lifetime sweetheart. She is now with her Heavenly Father and her parents.

She was born April 6, 1933, in Scarbro, W.Va.

Janet married her childhood sweetheart, Norman H. Staples, and later moved to Fort Myers, Fla., in 1960. They were married 62 years and shared many wonderful memories. She and Norman were blessed with wonderful children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her happiest times of joy were visiting with all her family members, whom she loved dearly. Janet touched the lives of so many people and provided a solid foundation for her children and grandchildren to live on. She will be greatly missed by all until we meet again in heaven.

Janet is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Norman H. Staples; daughters, Patti Hudson, Lisa Sears, and Debbie Canterbury; sons, Mike Staples and Kevin Staples; sisters, Judy Rhodes and Sharon Dickenson; grandchildren, Dana Nicole Hudson, Kiera Leigh-Ann Eerenburg, Christopher Paul Staples, Michelle Lea Peeples, Michael Wayne Canterbury Jr., Chylin Rae Parker, Amber Michelle Richmond, Tristan Cruz Sears, Ashley Daryl Staples, Emily Renee Staples, Haley Nichole Staples, Catherine Cinnicollo and Michale Cinnicollo; and great-grandchildren, Matthew, William, Brayden, Ethan, Ryan and Kaitlyn Eerenburg, Michael Wayne Canterbury III, and Baily Rae Canterbury.

Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Entombment followed at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Port Charlotte, FL. Friends may visit www.robersonfh.com to sign the memory book and extend condolences to the family.

Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel.
