Cecilia Bell Kreft

Cecilia Bell Kreft, 88, of Port Charlotte, Fla., went home to be with Our Lord Saturday, March 9, 2013.

She moved to Port Charlotte 26 years ago from Tampa, Fla., after retiring from Tampa General Hospital as a Medical Staff Secretary. Cecilia attended Sacred Heart Academy and graduated from the Academy of Holy Names and Barry University. She was a very active member of her Parrish, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, having been the President of the Council of Catholic Women, State President under the Central Deanery and Secretary for CHAD. Ceil was also a member of the Coalition for the Homeless, Pregnancy Careline, American CA Society, Respect Life and Respite Program. Cecilia loved her family and traveling with her dear friends, Dolores Harrison and Virginia Dias. She satisfied a lifelong dream of walking the path of Jesus on a trip to the Holy Lands bringing back holy water from the River Jordan to all her family.

Survivors includes her daughter, Cheryl (Dennis) Deppert; sons, Steven, and Michael (Darleen) Kreft; grandchildren, Sarah (Tim) O’Donnell, Dru (Lorian) Rivers, Madeline (Leamon) Kreft-Combs, Michael (Alexandra) Kreft, Michelle (Gary) Groat, Chris (Sally) Kreft, Caitlin and Kelli Kreft; and 11 grandchildren. Cecilia was preceded in death by her son, James.

A Celebration of Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Special thanks for her loving care to Harborview Acres Assisted Living and TideWell Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church School, 21505 Augusta Avenue, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
