Marguerite E. Diegel, 81, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Sunday, March 3, 2013, at her home in Port Charlotte.

Marguerite was born Oct. 21, 1931, in Detroit, Mich., and moved to Port Charlotte in 1983.

She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Marguerite was an outstanding person who helped in many ways in the community and with children. Marguerite was an avid animal lover, and often helped with donating money to the animal shelters. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Roseanne Coules; many nieces and nephews; several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and her longtime friend, Sharon Wilkins of Port Charlotte.

A private graveside service was held Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte. Friends may visit www.robersonfh.com to sign the memory book and extend condolences to the family.
