“The ladies love my French husband Emmanuel’s accent, so I know he will be welcome in the store,” said Shauana Boichut, who is opening The French Linen Chest, 211 W. Miami Ave., on the island. Her store features tablecloths, runners, napkins, tea towels, placemats and table accessories.
She is a French and Spanish linen importer, including Provencal cotton patterns, which are very colorful with floral, fruit and leaf designs very typical of Southern France. Jacquard products are cotton with a fine coating of Teflon to repel spills in happy, bright or formal patterns for family parties. Items are available in spill-proof acrylic as well.
