Nokomis Publix will re-open in December after major rebuild

An artistÂ’s rendering shows what the completed rebuild of Nokomis Village Shoppes at Laurel Road will look like when completed.
For shoppers expecting big inventory markdowns at the Publix store in Nokomis Village Shoppes prior to closure, there is bad news. All the inventory will be collected and sold by other local Publix stores.
Following the closing of the story at 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, fencing will be erected around the store as demolition is scheduled to start immediately following Easter. The new replacement store will be larger, as the contractor is taking part of the adjoining former video store to incorporate it in the new build.
