Procurement is on the right track
The Sarasota County Commission took another step toward rewriting procurement standards and practices last week, nearly one and a half years after an employee’s arrest sparked a scandal that led to a major house-cleaning.
The new rules, which aim to redefine procedures, are some of the 263 recommendations made by outside consultants and the county clerk’s office. All the recommendations will be addressed, officials said. But these were some of the bigger items.
