Jack Rose Jr., 79, of Venice, formerly a longtime resident of Inwood, N.Y., entered eternal life Oct. 19, 2012. He is survived by Janet, his loving wife of 49 years, also of Venice; son Jack Rose III and his wife, Dina, of Bronxville, N.Y.; daughter Jennifer DeFlorio and her husband, Michael, of Thornwood, N.Y.; and grandchildren Taylor and Katherine Rose, and Michael and Kristen DeFlorio.

Mr. Rose was a past national president of the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers; former member of the New York State Appraisal Board; fourth-degree Knight, Knights of Columbus (St. Mary’s Maris-Stella, Lynbrook, N.Y., Blessed Carlos Manuel, Sarasota, and Our Lady of Lourdes, Venice); former post commander, American Legion J. Franklin Bell Post 81, Inwood, N.Y.; former chair, Town of Hempstead Planning Advisory Board; founding member and past president of Sons of Italy Leonardo da Vinci Lodge, Inwood, N.Y.; past chair of the Inwood-North Lawrence Memorial Day Parade Commission; past president of the Inwood Civic Association, Inwood, N.Y., and a proud member, Benvenuti, Italian American Club of Venice.

Services: Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, with an evening service at 7 p.m., at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at Epiphany Cathedral, Venice, with interment to follow in Sarasota National Cemetery, with full military honors.
