Dale E. Wingert, 84, of Englewood, formerly of Venice, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012.

He was born July 14, 1928, in Olney, Ill., to Marley and Elsie (Jenner) Wingert. He moved to this area in 1974, coming from Greencastle, Ind. Mr. Wingert retired after 17 years from Suburban Gas, formerly Tex Gas, of Venice. He was a member of the VFW and a Mason and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary of Englewood; son, Barry A. (Nancy) Wingert of Venice; sister, Pat Agnew of Mooresville, Ind.; and grandson, Barry D. Wingert of Gainesville, Fla.
