Shirley S. Bishop, 80, of Venice, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013.

She was born Aug. 16, 1932, in Louisville, Ky. She graduated from Atheron High School for girls. Shirley traveled and lived in several cities while Noel was in the U.S. Air Force and also while he pursued his career. She worked for Weight Watchers International and did volunteer work at Venice Little Theatre and St. Mark’s Thrift Shop. She served on the vestry at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Shirley and Noel have been residents of Venice since 1974.

Survivors include her husband, C. Noel Bishop; her children, David, Laurie and Mark; and two grandchildren, Andrew Lewis and Caroline Lewis.

Services: Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, at Ewing Funeral Home. Services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
