Joan D. Dillon, 89, of Venice, Fla., died March 11, 2013. She was a war bride coming from Australia in 1946. Joan worked at the Venice Public Library and East of the Sun book store. She volunteered and worked at the Venice Little Theatre for close to 50 years. She is survived by her sons; Bruce of Nokomis, Keith of Australia and Jeff of Sarasota, daughters Jan Dillon of Englewood, Fla. and Wendy Dillon of New York, brothers Robert Gannon and Dave Gannon of Australia and sister Yvone Gannon also of Australia, 5 grandchildren Sam, Justus, Rachel, Eric, Valerie and many nieces and nephews in Australia.

Services: The curtain rises for a celebration of life from 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Ewing Funeral Home, with the final act at 2 p.m..
