The third-ranked Venice Knights defeated the second-ranked Riverdale Wildcats 8-6 Saturday in the first round of the Division 1 Peace River Championship.

On the opening kickoff the Knights set the tone by successfully executing an onside kick. The Knights took the opening drive down to the Wildcats’ 20-yard line, but the drive stalled.
