A win over Steinbrenner High in Saturday afternoon’s regional final is the only thing separating the Venice High volleyball team from another Final Four appearance. And with a ho-hum 25-15, 25-15, 25-9 sweep of Steinbrenner at the Tampa Prep Invitational in October on its résumé, Venice might be expected to look past the Warriors.

But in the lose-and-go-home world of the state playoffs, there is no room for overconfidence. Venice head coach Brian Wheatley is well aware of that fact.
