The Venice High boys basketball team opened its season by winning both of its games in the Lemon Bay Preseason Classic, following Wednesday’s 64-53 win over Elevation Academy with a 75-31 rout of Seacrest Country Day Thursday afternoon.
It was a promising start to the season for the Indians, who return with just two starters from last year’s team and were without senior guard Chris Hann, who needed stitches after receiving a headbutt to the eye late in Wednesday’s win. Hann led the Indians with 24 points in the win against Elevation and Andrew Fusco added 13 points.
