Tarpons’ hot shooting spurs 78-51 win

The Charlotte Tarpons (10-4, 5-1 7A District 11) increased their cushion atop the district standings with a resounding 78-51 rout of the Venice Indians (6-9, 1-5 7A District 11) Thursday.
Charlotte jumped all over the Indians from the opening tip, building a 10-point lead after the opening quarter on the strength of the outside shooting of Jimmy Stewart (17 points) and Adrian Ivankovic (9 points), who combined to make seven threes on the night. The Tarpons shot 58 percent in the first half and 55 percent (26-for-47) for the game.
