The Venice Indians softball team opened their contest against the Lemon Bay Manta Rays with an unearned run in the first inning. The lead looked like it would hold up until the Mantas pushed across two runs in the bottom of the sixth to squeak out a 2-1 victory.
“Lemon Bay has a really good team,” Indians coach Larry Sandburg said. “They made two really good defensive plays and that helped them.”
