This season the Venice Indians softball team has struggled to produce runs. Against the Sarasota Sailors, the Indians produced more of the same while the Sailors scored eight runs in the fifth inning en route to an 11-1 victory. The game was called in the sixth inning due to the 10-run mercy rule.
“They just beat us bad tonight,” Indians Head Coach Larry Sandburg said. “They were just a better team.”
