Finding the perfect boat

The perfect boat? Nah - that's a myth, like the perfect spouse. Everything is a compromise.

OK, let’s be clear up front: Despite the headline, there is no such thing as the perfect boat. You can get pretty darn close, but all boats are holes in the water you throw money in, right? No matter how much you try or how much you spend, there is going to be something your boat won’t do or something you won’t be completely happy about.

This bottom topography of this area makes buying a boat difficult. Do you want a boat that will run in 6 inches of water? Do you want a boat that can tackle rough offshore water? Do you want a boat that will comfortably hold half a dozen fishermen when family comes to visit? Do you want a boat you can run way up river? Do you want a boat that has a head or maybe even a galley? You said yes to all of them, didn’t you? Well, that’s the perfect boat that doesn’t exist.
