Time to try something new
By Greg Bartz
This is probably my least favorite time of year for fishing. I always have trouble locating bass this time of year, and even when I do locate them, getting them to bite is another story. This winter season, I want to try a few things that may be a little out of the norm for Florida waters.
Lately, more and more bass anglers are switching over to swimbaits. I have not really gotten into these baits as of yet because I have never found just the right area. Truthfully, I really don’t feel the need to throw one. I have been fortunate enough to locate fish and put them in the livewell sticking with some of my standard techniques. But this time of year has never been particularly kind to me, so I’m going to be putting in some time fishing swimbaits to see if I can turn that around.
