The Boca Grande Community Center hosted its first youth fishing tournament of the new year on Saturday, January 5th at the Boca Grande Fishing Pier. The weather was nasty at first, but the turnout was great with more than 55 fisherkids.

The children hooked into mangrove snapper, grouper, flounder, grunts, whiting, sea bass and a few squirrel fish. They caught more than 35 fish bigger than eight inches long.
