While I normally enjoy Tommy Von Voigt’s inciteful articles on everything from Lovecraft to Lovecraft, I must take exception to his recent research for the upcoming article “Tommy cooks a bald eagle.” (See WaterLine article from the Jan. 31 edition.)
On January 13, Peace River Wildlife Center admitted a bald eagle that we assumed had been shocked by an unshielded electric wire or transformer. The bird’s face and right leg have burns on them and her feathers are severely damaged. The primary feathers on her right wing are melted down to the shaft and most of the vaned feathers on the entire right side of her body and leg are burnt off, exposing the downy feathers underneath. Tommy, is there anything you would like to tell us?
